I sure hope you do. I've thought about writing a novel (historical fiction) about her life - her brood.

Kathryn It'll be arranged with the publisher next week. Probably after that I'll write a bio of her son John of Gaunt.

Marie I am really hoping that both of these books happen. There really aren't enough books about J of G out there. Fingers crossed.

Kathryn Hi Marie! I'm writing the bio of Philippa of Hainault - it should be out late next year or thereabouts - and have a contract for one about John of Gaunt. :-) Thank you for your interest!

Marie Yes! That's made me so happy.

I really do think that Queen Consorts, distinguished sons and Royal favourites do deserve their own biographies as they had so much input on the politics of the time.

Kathryn Absolutely agree, Marie! I've also submitted a joint bio of Edward II's three de Clare nieces, which will be published next year, and have a contract for a bio of Edward's sisters. I love writing about medieval women.

Kathy Rakow I am late to this Q and A, but I am delighted to hear this! I hope you are still planning on writing about Phillipa (as well as a John of Gaunt bio)

Kathryn Hi Kathy, thank you! Yes, the Philippa book is out later this year (it's already listed here on GR and on Amazon), and the John of Gaunt book will be out in about October next year.
