Hi Sophfronia, My neighbor Janet Benton has written a phenomenally sensitive and insightful novel about a sinhgle mother in Philadelphia in 1883 entitles "Lilli de Jong". I don't know her personally, but we do participate in a Facebook group together so I'm aware of her book. I've heard good things about it!
