In the story "Metamorphosis" woman are protrayed as being weak. The story is making them seem like if the woman can't keep themselves together and always tend to fall apart. "she wanted to lead her mother to safety and then chase him down off the wall." Grete is trying to say that the mother is really scared of how Gregor looks like. Almost really afraid of how his apperenace might look. The sister in the case is trying to help the mother out. This makes the daughter seem like the adult because she has delt with Gregor before and isn't afraid of him anymore. Kafka seems confused of how to protray women. He is making his mother seem weak but in the other case he is making his sister seem strong.

I agree with Keshona, Gregor does seem like a Modernist. Keshona asked, "My question now is what will his parents do now to pay off their debt if Gregor cant't work now because he's a ernormous bug now??????" To answer her qustion maybe they are going to transform him back into a human. They might even get money by showing him off and make him go to a circus and be a circus freak. That might just work in order to pay off the debt that his parent owe.

So maybe it might be a good thing that he turned into a bug.

ms k to answer your question I'd gregor is acting irresponsible, I don't think he is I think that everybody just expects to much from him and he can't fulfill everybody standards. I think that he has a lot of pressure going on and maybe he wanted to turn into a bug so he could just brush away all the problems and not to worry about nothing.

I am some what confused because why can gregor hear all the people but when he starts to talk Boone understand him? That's pretty weird.but I agree when you had said that he sees himself as a cockaroach becausehe doesn't belong. That's real powerful

First of all i didnt like the story at all. A comment i have for Mrs. Mullard is why would you get married if you know already whats going to be like. Obviously she was with her husband before marriage, so he must of have had an idea of how he was. I think she rushed things and wasnt sure what she wanted and because of that she had a trapped marriage.

i seriously think that obama is change by being the first black president but i don't think that he is going to fix this economy up. this world is too corrupt at this point. at this moment i feel excited because when i get older obama being the first president my kids are gonna be learning about it.

i seriously didn't even get the last sentences. i thought that he was trying to be sexual like don't touch...or something...idk this story was awesome but the last lines were hard to understand.

My favorite books are suspenseful books. I like Once a King always a King, Once a King always A King, & A child called it. They were my Favorite because they actually made me want to read more and find out what's next. I read these books for fun. I read these books over the summer but I read them twice already

The books that make you actually want to read more. Books that are just plain terrible are the ones that you read the first page and just fall asleep. =]
