I have WORD and its suite and you can't get it separately if your operating system is new... ugh. It's $80 annually. HOWEVER, the newspaper I work at uses Open Docs. It's free and it seems to work seamlessly with WORD. Now, if only my novel worked seamlessly with my mind. LOL.
Out of curiosity... i am on hiatus for a few more days until I can get back into a schedule to work on my "novel" and I use that term loosely... since I never intended to do this. But, I saw the course in Coursera and thought what the heck. What then, if any, is the advantage to finishing that course. The feedback is difficult to navigate and you can't explain things to people and its hard to leave feedback if you don't see the other chapters. I'm must wondering if I want to put the rest of my book up there.

Thank you for the detailed review. I have not done any editing. I will when I can do chapter 1-7. I sometimes lost the timeline. So your comments are very helpful.
Thank you, I'm trying to keep tying it together I know where its supposed to go, but getting there means not so much work, like this election week was HELL. And a little more thinking... this is more difficult than one would think, however, the words come rushing out and I cannot wait to edit the first 7 chapters... I have an editor friend that I think will be willing to read it all at once. I'm pretty excited because I have a head full of book ideas and once I am back writing every morning, I might be able to clear my head. LOL> thank you.
Okay, its been a terrible couple of weeks and i lost 3 Tbytes of data on an external hard drive. I'm heartbroken. Luckily my work here which I consider to be learning to be disaplined at writing was on my laptop.I am posting my first five chapters through coursera, PLEASE NOTE: I have taken under advisement the comments from the reviews and reworked and massaged the details a bit. Just so you know. And, thank you for your input. I didn't think I could do this.

Thank you, I did do an outline like suggested and just thought I would keep writing cause thats what we do... thanks, I'll be back.
Thank you all, sometimes walking away makes a big difference. I would appreciate any and all assistance... so I will post the links from the coursera later today, I hope. Its a work day, darn, always getting in the way of the fun things...
I am a little nervous about putting this out there, but I feel kinda stuck on where to go with chapter four in my Coursera class. Is there some way to post the first three chapters for some comments. It would make more sense as a whole rather than separate chapters. Would a google doc work? Thank you, i appreciate your assistance.
Greetings, I just started that novel writing coursera class at the end of September and am attempting chapter 3... I struggle with that interface and was delighted to find this group. As soon as I get that third chapter done I would love to post the link for some input. Seems hard to judge a chapter independant of its predecessors... however, I would love to be able to say I finsished writing a book, even if no one will read it. I have four books that I did on researching my ancestors culture... I think they have been reviewed on GoodReads...maybe ... they are self-published and I love to write and have to get back in the process again. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...
