I never thought about that, but I guess the fact that silveny doesn’t like fitz is just another reason for me to hate him!!! And yes fingers crossed for more sokeefe in book 9!

yes they are part of the universe, but they are not canon

Definition of canon: In fiction, canon is the material accepted as officially part of the story in the fictional universe of that story.

movies have different events and sometimes the plot is somewhat different making it not officially part of the story and not canon

yeah, but the author isn't the director and they can't put everything from the books into the movies because that would be too long, but those extra parts that aren't in the movies still exist

I do not consider movies to be canon. They always change the stuff from the books. Like, in HP for example, in the books Winky the house elf played a big part in book 4, but she didn't even exist in the movies. I'm not saying I didn't enjoy the movie, but it's not canon.

I wouldn't consider them a "fake" fan, but like AnnabethChase said they wouldn't be a fan of the series, only the movies because the movies always differ from the books in major ways
