I am in the middle of Falling Down and I am enjoying it.
I also finished Jordan L. Hawk seriesWiddershins series. For some reason, even though it has been on many recommended reading lists, I have avoided this series.
Once I finished Widdershins, I was hooked. So of course, I had to due diligence and finish the series. They were all enjoyable great reads.
I like this author and had read many of his other books. I loved the Hexbreaker. So anyway, I this is what I have been reading as of late.
Looking forward to hearing what everyone else has been reading.
I have been out for a bit, but in my free time I have certainly still be reading.Currently, I am reading an author new to me
Model Citizen.
I am in the middle of the second book of this series.
I find it enjoyable. On occasion what is for dinner and their exact wardrobe (both pet peeves of mine) is a bit tedious but I have enjoyed the attention of the main character facing his emotional issues.
I haven't read it but I will put it on the stack to read a sample of it.I know many authors review and comment on Goodreads. I think i want to take a second to agree with you about one of my biggest pet peeves with writers which is a long description of the character's food, drink, clothing. Sometimes clothing helps describe a character but seriously do i need to know every minor detail of the outfit? Since I am venting, my other frustration is feminizing male characters. Sometimes when I am reading i feel like the character's sound more feminine then masculine.
I have to say thank you all for continuing to keep this thread active. I have learned about a lot of new books that I hadn't read before and it has helped me out of the doldrums i had fallen into thinking i had run out of good books to read.I am still working on the Jordan Hawk series. I think the word I would use for the writing is "delicious". It sates my palate with conversation and descriptors so many authors don't bother with.
I am not a prude but in many books the story moves from one explicit sex scene to the next. The sex if written well intensifies the stories but I don't want to read about it every ten pages. I want to know more about the characters agnst i think.
I am on book number three and still going on Hawk's series.
Have a blessed day.
WiddershinsHas been recommended to me several times. So finally, I decided to read it. Then of course, the second one and now on the third one.
The book satisfies several of my personal likes. The author does a great job with vocabulary and descriptions. I love Whyborne's character !
Widdershins was about 200 pages which usually means a fast read for me. But I found myself slowing down and savoring the read.
I enjoy a sexy hot read as much as the next reader but i enjoyed the slow sensual anticipation of the mc's.
I am probably the last person to read this series but I am glad I did.
I finished Ten Days in August!! I liked it. It definitely seemed a very long book. The ending seemed very contrived, but by that time i had fallen in love with all the MC's so it didn't bother me that much. The author did a great job of describing the city of New York during that time. As I read I could almost smell the stench of sweat and people dying from the heat. I can't remember a time in recent books where the descriptions seemed so realistic.
Currently I am reading From Out in the Cold. I like LA Witt but haven't read this author in quite a while.
So far the book is good. I am pretty sure how things are going to work out but I love MC's with serious angst so it is fitting the bill
I definitely enjoyed it Currently I am reading Ten Days in August. It is basically historical fiction set in the late 1800's in New York City. I enjoy it but it is slow reading

I do have the Kindle version of Wolfsong.. If someone wants to read it i will be happy to lend it I should be finished with it tonight. I have loved it. One of the best I have read lately. I enjoyed Klune's How To Be A Normal Person
Sloane KennedyI am reading Retribution which is the third book in the series. I had really enjoyed the first two books of this series. I must say I like this one better than the first two From the first page I was hooked and I must say my household tasks are suffering because I want to finish the book'
Has anyone else read it?

I couldn't find it in the ebooks either. Thank you for your list. When you mentioned catnip i realized I have several catnips. I love shifters, fantasy, and flawed characters.

I found this thread and am hoping by posting on it that we can begin again a conversation about what we are reading.
I am hoping for other members recommendations that include books that are not novellas and have at least 200 pages. I like a book that takes me more than a couple of hours to finish.
