The novella was in a book called Time and Time Again: Sixteen Stories of Time Travel by Silverberg but I read only this story and I'm glad I did.Silverberg did a great job describing the bleak environment of the penal colony. I'm glad it ended the way it did.
I've just finished reading it and rated it three stars. The action did pick up towards the end of the book. It's a perfect read for a hot summer day, and we've been having too many of those this summer.
I've just finished the story-maybe the light bulb was never invented because it never got dark? I read the novel version a few years ago and don't remember that much about it, but it was an okay read.
This story was also an okay read, but the premise itself is interesting.
I've just finished reading the story. I'm a fan of the authors as well-the Earth of that time must be a really boring place.
I've just finished this and enjoyed it. I read it on Project Gutenberg. The scene with the writer was a nice touch.
I've read this a couple of times and enjoyed it, but not as much as The War of the Worlds.I've seen the 60s movie a number of times over the years and found it visually attractive and entertaining, but I don't remember how closely it follows the book.
I watched part of the Guy Pearce version and really didn't like it at all. Maybe that's why I didn't watch the whole thing.
It was a gloomy read with a depressing subject matter. He's good at creating atmosphere, but in this case the atmosphere was intense and weird(all those mutations).
