Dewey's October 2025 Opening Survey1. How many Dewey's Readathons have you participated in? Too many to keep track. It's probably been 15 years I've been doing them.
2a. If this is not your first Dewey's Readathon, what are your favorite things from past Dewey's readathons? Are you trying anything new or different this time?
I'm doing my usual things.
2b. What are your goals, and what are you looking forward to during this Readathon?
Reading as much as I can
3. What are you looking forward to eating and drinking during this Readathon?
All my snacks
4. Are you sticking to our official Readathon times or adjusting for your schedule/preferences/etc.?
Yes. The whole point of the readathon is to do it in the same 24 hours as everyone else.
5. Where are you reading from today?
Dallas, TX
D.L. wrote: "Blind Dates With Books? Does that mean you wrap the books in brown paper or something so you don't know what you're going to read until you open it? I am curious how this works. It sounds fun!"they are all in book covers so I can't see what book it is until I open it.
I'll be back again for this next go round! My TBR is a pile of Blind Dates with Books that are in book covers. I put a whole bunch in covers this past week that I pulled randomly off my shelves. So I will see what I read this year. I don't even remember what all I pulled to put in book covers. I have found I like doing Blind Dates because it adds a bit of fun and mystery to my readathons not knowing what is coming next. I always have more pulled than I can read during the readathon so if one isn't working for me, I move on to the next one.
Hour 24: Closing Survey 1. How did your Readathon go overall?
pretty well
2. Are you continuing to read for the rest of the weekend?
just my usual amount of reading
3. How many books have you read in this Readathon? How many have you finished? Which was your favorite?
5 books read, 2 in progress at end of readathon
4. Do you plan to do other reading events or readathons between now and October 18th (our next Readathon)?
probably not but who knows
5. Have you added any tempting books to your TBR during this Readathon?
no

Opening Survey For the Dewey's 2025 Reverse Readathon1. How many Dewey's Readathons have you participated in?
Good Lord, I have absolutely NO idea. A LOT! And more years than I can remember.
2a. If this is not your first Dewey's Readathon, what are your favorite things from past Dewey's readathons? Are you trying anything new or different this time?
lots of uninterrupted reading time, time off work, snacks, fur baby snuggles. Not doing anything new this go round
2b. What are your goals, and what are you looking forward to during this Readathon?
Staying awake as long as I can and reading as many books as I can.
3. What are you looking forward to eating and drinking during this Readathon?
ALL the things!
4. Are you sticking to our official Readathon times or adjusting for your schedule/preferences/etc.?
Sticking to the official times. To me the point of this readathon is that around the world we are in this together. Changing start and end times defeats the purpose.
5. Where are you reading from today?
DFW, TX
I wasn't able to do the April Readathon because the weekend picked was the ONE weekend I was unavailable that month, so it's been a while since I've been in here. But I am back for this July's Reverse Readathon!
