134911 It's been a good summer. Challenging and a little less relaxing than I would have liked...but good. Now that we are close to the end of August...I can't help but get excited for the season that is right around the corner.

I can almost see it!

Shades of crimson, orange and chocolate brown. The smell of pumpkin, roasted pecans and cinnamon. Layering up your clothing and finishing it off with a cute infinity scarf. That subtle nip in the air. OH YEAH! Good riddance Summer-we want Autumn!!

And what is the best way to kick off your football playin', pumpkin spiced everything, cool weather season?!

Well...some super COZY novels, of course!

I will be introducing some warm, cozy and feel-good novels and I hope you all enjoy the lovelies that I have chosen! And for your reading pleasure, we are still in the middle of the Harry Potter series and will continue for the rest of the year-so feel free to jump in at any time.

Happy reading!

134911 Harry Potter is kind of a big deal in my world. Everyone in my house (my husband, my almost 11 year old son and myself) have pretty much been there and done that with Harry Potter..several times over. My 4 year old daughter on the other hand...not so much. I know that she has seen the first film maybe 3 times, tops. My son watched the first two films so often, he spoke occasionally in a British accent!

Yesterday, while my husband was out picking up our son from a sleepover, my daughter-out of nowhere-asked to watch Harry Potter. My chest swelled with pride and as a single happy tear fell from my cheek, I put the Prisoner of Azkaban in the bluray player. She curled up under a blanket on the couch and watched-attentively. It may seem silly to everyone but for me, it was a glorious moment in my life!

The film was almost over and my husband had made it home with our son, so I decided to hop in the shower. I got cleaned up and dressed and walked into the living to see my husband snuggled up on the couch watching HP -GOF. Again, silly to some but for me-ANOTHER glorious moment for me!

Well, it turns out that our Sunday turned into a Harry Potter Marathon finishing up with HBP. Looks like HP will trickle into Monday night with the last two films....oh, darn. ;)

134911 Books of the Month:
Crescent Bound (Crescent Bound, #1) by Karli Rush
House of Many Shadows by Barbara Michaels
A Thousand Nights (A Thousand Nights, #1) by E.K. Johnston

134911 It's OFFICIAL!! Fall is HERE!!!

This is probably my most favorite month of the year and I have picked out some cozy/creepy books just for you!!

Shiver (The Wolves of Mercy Falls, #1) by Maggie Stiefvater

For years, Grace has watched the wolves in the woods behind her house. One yellow-eyed wolf--her wolf--is a chilling presence she can't seem to live without. Meanwhile, Sam has lived two lives: In winter, the frozen woods, the protection of the pack, and the silent company of a fearless girl. In summer, a few precious months of being human . . . until the cold makes him shift back again.
Now, Grace meets a yellow-eyed boy whose familiarity takes her breath away. It's her wolf. It has to be. But as winter nears, Sam must fight to stay human--or risk losing himself, and Grace, forever.

Sleepy Hollow Rise Headless and Ride (Jason Crane, #1) by Richard Gleaves

JASON CRANE just turned seventeen years old.

He's a STAR WARS fan and a history geek. He doesn't believe in ghosts or the afterlife. He doesn't believe in psychic powers or tarot cards. He doesn't believe in the Headless Horseman.

But Sleepy Hollow will change all that. Because Jason Crane has a heritage to claim. Jason Crane has a Gift to discover. And Jason Crane has an old enemy who will RISE HEADLESS AND RIDE.

Warm Bodies (Warm Bodies, #1) by Isaac Marion

“R” is having a no-life crisis—he is a zombie. He has no memories, no identity, and no pulse, but he is a little different from his fellow Dead. He may occasionally eat people, but he’d rather be riding abandoned airport escalators, listening to Sinatra in the cozy 747 he calls home, or collecting souvenirs from the ruins of civilization.

And then he meets a girl.

First as his captive, then his reluctant house guest, Julie is a blast of living color in R’s gray landscape, and something inside him begins to bloom. He doesn’t want to eat this girl—although she looks delicious—he wants to protect her. But their unlikely bond will cause ripples they can’t imagine, and their hopeless world won’t change without a fight.

HAPPY FALL YA'LL!!

134911 Last month I attended Hilary Storm's Hard Rock Author's Event in Catoosa...and it was a total blast!!! I, along with a fellow Reader's Nook member, got to meet and greet so many authors and cover models...we were in heaven! We had so much fun in fact, I bought VIP tickets for next year's event and have added THREE MORE EVENTS FOR 2017! (Check out the Events section for details!)

August is here and there are some seriously awesome books to choose from...I don't even know which one to start with! I must say my top picks are IT, Swept Away and Torrent...but which one to start with?!

Don't forget, we are still reading Harry Potter but have moved on to book two-Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Read along with us on Reader's Nook and on POTTERMORE.COM!

The weather has been crazy lately (especially for AUGUST!) - I hope everyone is safe after this weekend's tornado! Today is cloudy/gloomy...I believe I will start off this month with Stephen King's IT! The movie comes out next month!!!

Happy Reading Ya'll,
Michelle

134911 I’ve been obsessed with Rafe Mason since I was thirteen. The twisted part of this story is that I still want him even now that he’s holding me captive on an island.

Rafe has his reasons for doing what he’s doing, and if I’m honest, I can’t blame him. I’m the girl who sent him to prison for a heinous crime he didn’t commit.

But now he’s free and the tables have turned…now he’s the one driven by obsession.

TORRENT is a dark romance with disturbing themes and explicit content, including sexual scenes and violence that may offend some. Intended for mature audiences.

Swept Away by Kamery Solomon
SWEPT AWAY Kamery Solomon

Dead men tell no tales...

For more than 200 years, the Treasure Pit on Oak Isle has baffled treasure hunters, engineers, and the common man alike. When Samantha Greene arrives, she finds her estranged father has spent years funneling energy and finances into the endeavor, finding nothing.

When an accidental death occurs in the pit, fulfilling the prophecy that seven lives must end before the treasure can be found, the search kicks into high gear, with more than one party vying for the secrets that lie below. Finding herself the closest to the treasure anyone has ever been, Samantha throws herself into the work, landing among the coveted prize. Just as she's about to discover what's truly hidden beneath the island, the pit begins to flood with ocean water, sweeping her away despite her attempts to swim to the surface.

Upon awaking, Samantha discovers that, not only did she not drown, but the year is 1695—one hundred years before the Treasure Pit was even discovered. Carried off by the pirate Tristan O'Rourke, a rouge Irishman with more than his share of secrets, she soon finds that there is much more than she realized in play. Will she discover the secrets of Oak Isle, or will an unexpected love keep her from finding out the truth? Will she ever make it back to her own time? Perhaps the real question is this; will she want to?

Ellie Jordan, Ghost Trapper (Ellie Jordan, Ghost Trapper #1) by J.L. Bryan
ELLIE JORDAN, GHOST TRAPPER J.L. Bryan

Ellie Jordan’s job is to catch and remove unwanted ghosts. Part detective, part paranormal exterminator, Ellie operates out of Savannah, Georgia, the most haunted city in the United States.

When a family contacts her to deal with a disturbing presence in the old mansion they’ve recently purchased, Ellie first believes it to be a typical, by-the-book specter, a residual haunting by a restless spirit. Instead, she finds herself confronting an evil older and more powerful than she’d ever expected, rooted in the house’s long and sordid history of luxury, sin, and murder. The dangerous entity seems particularly interested in her clients’ ten-year-old daughter.

Soon her own life is in danger, and Ellie must find a way to exorcise the darkness of the house before it can kill her, her clients, or their frightened young child.

134911 Virgin for the Woodsman by Eddie Cleveland

As a SEAL sniper it’s always the same, lock up your target in the cross hairs and don’t look away until you see the pink mist. It turns out murdering a man in his house at close range isn't all that different.

I knew killing that piece of sh*t meant I would have to run to the edge of the earth to escape my crime. Disappearing into the Canadian wilderness definitely fit the bill.

I thought I'd found a perfect refuge from the law, from civilization and unfortunately, from women. I guess I was wrong about all three.

She thinks she's tracking me. Hunting me. She doesn't know I'm on her trail. With her long, flowing hair that I want to wrap around my fist and her thick, kissable lips, I couldn't turn away. It was too much for this wild man to resist.

There's hunger that has been growing inside me and I'm ready to eat.
