137842 Kinda like, Sonia won't be participating on the challenge because she needs to study instead of reading.

Hours spend studying since the challenge started: 2

Books read since the challenge started: 14, almost 15

Yeah. Sounds about right.

137842 I think I need a new jar. Mainly things that say, do not re-read this month or stay away from KU, or there are other books to be read

137842 Oh lordy... I never got back to this....

At least it narrowed it a bit.

137842 Yeah, they do. Which reminds me, I should eventually read my library book. Already had to call there to renew it

*hangs head in shame*

137842 Don't we all.

- Read 70 books
- Complete NBRC's A Weighty Tome: 2023 Challenge: Ship of Magic
- Finish 2 series from the Don't be a Ghost challenge
- Complete last year's prompts from the Book Jar Challenge

Results:

- 0/70
- 0/1
- 0/2
- 0/8

Note: Yes, I realize my reading challenge is way lower than half the books I read last year BUT I'm trying to have more balance instead of using re-reads and KUs to curls in a ball instead of living life and chasing dreams

137842 I managed to read very few from my TBR, I'm not sure if I just stick to those till I finish and then do another type of filler, or whatnot, but I'm doing it.

Probably that option, yes.

The Book Jar Challenge

Last year's popular challenge is back, and with a vengeance! You can start over, or just continue with your previous one.

How does it work:

1. Decide on a time frame - Monthly, Fortnight or Weekly
2. Write down the options according to the chosen time frame (you can have repeats if you like)
3. When it's time, pick from the jar (or randomizer of choice) and let us know the prompt, and which book you read for it.

Note: Posted under my own account because goodreads is still being annoying

137842 Want me to make the 2023 version?

*giggles*

Just kidding, of course I'm going to do one.
Sep 15, 2022 02:13AM

137842 I will. Maybe October?

137842 Not a bad idea. I have been in a mpreg kick, but I am now on the waiting for the next book to be out phase.

I did read Ruby Fever yesterday, and by yesterday I mean from 11 something PM to 4 something AM. I am regretting the lack of sleep now, but the book is so oh so good. My phone app doesn't show date & time like my kindle does, so, by the time I checked, it was waaaaay to late and adult me decided let bookworm me take the reins was a good idea.

IT WASN'T.

Anyway, all that to say, that I just finished an IA book, so reading another might be a good plan. There must be food in there, for sure. I mean, they do need to eat...

137842 Manga is always a good option. I was about to say light, but some of them can be really dark
Jul 28, 2022 09:52AM

137842 Not me. I gave up on the fever series because Mac sounded way too much younger than what she was. Also, all the pink and perky rainbow way of dressing up made my teeth ache.

I endured till book 5. And then had to throw the towel. I swear for the life of me, I cannot understand how everybody else loves her and Barrons because I just couldn't see it.

137842 deaths... I'm pretty sure it will be plural.

Are you using it for towers TBR?

137842 I'm still working on Into the Drowning Deep (Rolling in the Deep, #1) by Mira Grant . My own fault, because I read the prequel to vanquish a monster, and now, I don't want my characters to die a painful death.

Because this one has this Titanic meets Jurassic Park feeling. They spare no expenses. And think they are better prepared this time. The darn metal shutter tests failed twice now. Am I the only one that sees it spelling disaster? No. And Eni just smirks and tells me nothing when I ask her.
Jul 22, 2022 02:25AM

137842 Uhmmm... are you reading YA?
Jun 10, 2022 04:17AM

137842 Pretty sure. I could raid her bookshelves. Plenty of options in two languages there.
