I wanted to reread Rebel Angels since I just reread A Great and Terrible Beauty last month, but I was just too busy with school. :/ I did read some of another book, but it isn't a reread.
Unfortunately, I only finished one (very short) book this week, Jacob's Room by Virginia Woolf. I did start A Thousand Splendid Suns today, but I'm only 3 chapters in.
I've read the first 3 volumes of Battle Royale (and checked out the next 6, because it's SO GOOD and each one goes by really quickly) and Persepolis 2 (I read part 1 last summer) and Blue is the Warmest Color. I'm so glad my semester's over; I never thought I'd like graphic novels so much.
I liked her writing style, but I agree it got tiring sometimes. (Especially the kissing scenes with all those run on sentences.) But overall, I enjoyed it. I wasn't sure if I would given all the mixed reviews, but I enjoyed it more than I thought I would.
I actually feel really bad that I didn't like this book very much, but I just couldn't get into it, because so many people like it. There were too many plot holes and I don't understand how Amy and Elder can be in love when the entire book takes place in 3 or 4 days...
I think she's great too. I love how competitive she is and how she gets so angry that she can't show everyone how skilled she is. It's such a nice flaw to give someone. I really appreciate that she isn't stoic and quiet like most fantasy assassins are.
I loved the part where she's trying to teach herself billiards and she flips out because she can't get it right. It made me laugh so hard when she started screaming at the billiard balls.
I'm Kelsey, I'm from the United States, and I love all sorts of books. Right now I'm flying through Legend!
