50x66 This is the link to his facebook page with the letter on it, and it's wonderfully written.

50x66 I felt the same way the The Divine Comedy.
That was a book I had to keep putting down and coming back to, a bit arduous but well worth it in the end!

House of Leaves can be hard work to get through, and you can't leave it too long in-between sittings when reading, as I found that I'd forget what had already happened and have to go back to make sense of it

50x66 Hey Kerry,
I know what you mean haha, his style is very unique but the only one I've found really difficult to get through was Only Revolutions. I think it's definitely the way it's set out and the fact you can read from either end but have to switch in the middle.

The Fifty Year Sword is a lot simpler to read, the narrative is much easier to follow and the book is beautiful (cover and illustration wise)

50x66 I am in awe of this story.

I have read it so many times that the spine is cracked, post it notes litter pages and pencil outlines take over when I ran out of post it notes.

This story is rich with characters, quotes, events and wonderful writing. I would class it as a thriller/horror/suspense story. A story within a story; Johnny tells his story, along with Zampano's and his findings who details the Navidson record.

Another big feature is the layout of the book (and i'm a firm believer that if you can, you should get the remastered full colour edition) which is a huge plus as it draws you further into the story, especially later on.

So what are you favourite parts, quotes? Your ideas on the story overall, the characters?

50x66 I'm Pan and the moderator for this group.

I couldn't find a group about Danielewski and he is one of my favourite authors. Not a lot of people I know read his works so it would be great to find people who have and discuss them.

Any questions or suggestions then please don't hesitate to message me :)
