Are you starting the New Year with its follow-up
The Suitors
Several other books by Lucrezia are listed at GR -- good ones!

Not yet -- it's on my list for 2018

Thanks, Sheila -- your note reminded me where I saw the story posted. I had checked everyone's YTD listings and not found it.
But it was listed by Sarah as one of her "best of the year". You had asked her for a link and she supplied the one at AHA.

The one you have found is what I had saved some time ago at "Firthness" -- which I read until it ends with D/E married and traveling to London with J for a season. J is "torn between 2 lovers" and it didn't seem complete.
The one at AHA is actually about 5 chapters shorter than that but the author has posted in December. It appears she is revising and posting the story at AHA and posting every month or so.
I have marked the story at AHA and will watch for new posts and hope the author is able to finish soon.
Debbie wrote: "Sorry I can't help you with that, Rose. Have you tried searching for it at AHA using the author's name?"I admit to being an imbecile but I find it very difficult to search at AHA. I have found the members list showing authors and others by their alter egos. But even when I find an author, the stories are not necessarily listed with their profiles. If there is a secret to searching AHA, I don't know it.
I did find some Alisons and Allisons but could not find the story.

Someone posted this story recently with a link to MRR. I had this other site marked some time ago and found the text easier to read than at Meryton, so I read it there. The story ends without Jane having a HEA. It felt incomplete to me. If anyone knows the link to the other version, please let me know. Thanks
Glad to see you like this author too.I've read the 1st two you list but not the modern.
On FFnet she posted the first one as "Letters from Elizabeth" and then "Letters from Darcy". A sad story with a HEA and a sympathetic Lady C.
Oh Sheila -- two 2-Stars in a row! That shouldn't happen to anyone but congratulations on your total for the year

Just looked at the bottom of the page on Meryton Press. They have posted a tweet:Looks like there’s a hitch in today’s scheduled sale on Mistaken. We’re going to work on it and get back to you.

I think that was a common practice for doctors at the time but would be unheard of today. As a side note, my sister and I had hysterectomies the same week too -- but that's a story for a different day.
Sheila and Teresa -- I can identify with both your comments. Our house had central heat but my parents had grown up with unheated bedrooms and it was unthinkable to them to pay for heat for the upstairs "just because the kids slept up there!" We learned to dress very quickly!
Teresa -- my tonsils were removed when I was about 4 years old because my SISTER had a sore throat! My older brother and I were rounded up for the surgery at the same time because the doctor "didn't want to be bothered" having to take tonsils out one at a time. My baby brother was judged to be too young and had to develop his own sore throat years later.
Meryton Press is putting several books on 1-day sales from now through January 4. Sale prices from $1.99 to $2.99Some very good stories if you haven't already read them.
List is available here -- about 1/3 of the way down the page:
