I didn't know this about you! I guess the hard-core lawyer persona was made up in my mind! I cry too... maybe it's a getting older/mom thing?? I'm reading this one with Amy though... so it may take awhile to get to the tears part. We only read a chapter or two a night (the chapters are short!)
I read Shaken by Tim Tebow.... college football great, Heisman trophy winner, got to the NFL and was cut from 3 teams. This is a story about not losing your faith while your world is falling apart. I found it very inspirational. He has definitely dedicated his life to God and while he admits he doesn't know why some things happen, he has learned to be ok with God's plan for his life.
I've always been a Tebow fan, so I was excited to finally get my "on hold" copy. I liked it.
I'm actually having a hard time remembering what I read in High School. Crazy enough- I can remember Middle School stuff but not High.
Read Daisy Miller by Henry James. Published in 1879 (I was born in 1979). I'm not sure what to think of this. It was gard getting into, like all "old" books are to me. Lots of extensive vocabulary- I had to keep hitting 'define' on my ecopy. One word couldn't even be found, which was interesting. The ending wasn't overly happy...and if you know me, you know I love a good ending. So while I was entertained, it wasn't a favorite.
While not really known as a "comedian," as of right now I'm using this for this slot. Lauren Graham is pretty funny and I'm a huge Gilmore Girls and Parenthood fan, so this book needed to be added somewhere. I also talk fast so I can totally relate to the title!
I created a separate shelf for this challenge. Of course, you can only see it if you go into your profile, but it better than nothing. Thanks for the update! I've only read Salt to the Sea but I need to read her others!
definitely! is this Animal Farm, like the movie? ? (I'm sure librarians hate hearing that sentence! haha)
I'm on a phone, but when I get time to get to a desktop, I'll definitely check this out! thanks Linda!
Re-read your post and my mom just told me about this movie. I hadn't heard of it before. But it does sound good!
I expect some spells from you! hahaha You have a lot to read from Harry Potter #5 through Cursed Child by Book Club! Good luck!!
