Describe what happened

Since julie's mom is in the wild she needs to save her. So Julie goes back home and gets all the magical items she can find, most of the stuff is in the linen closet. Julie stuff all of it in a back pack and puts on a pair of magical boots. on her way to the wild she stops at Gillians house to say good bye. Gillian follows Julie to the wild. Julie doesn't want Gillian to come with her because the wild is very dangerous. Gillian digs through Julie's pack to see what she is bringing. She finds a trumpet. There are guards in front of the wild, bears, hogs, and lions. Gillian distracts them with the trumpet and they start to dance. Gillian wishes good luck to julie and She enters the wild. Part 2: As Julie is riding her bike kicks her off and speeds away. This was because of the magical boots. She walks some more and comes across Little red, or what looked to be little red. It was a 40 year old woman in business cloths with a red cloak. The wild had made her the new red riding hood. The Old red riding hood Sees julie's backpack and thinks it is her basket. She grabs it and takes it from Julie. She tries to get it back then Red yells "WOLF!" Julie releases the backpack as she hears growls. she runs then looks back no one is following her. "I am lost with no supplies"

Describe a part that surprised you

When julie saw Red, but it turned out to be a fourty year old woman. That Scared me..... Seriously think about it if you went up t one of your friends and they were some strange person when they turned around.

Describe your favorite part

When Gillian played the trumpet to distract the guards so julie could enter the wild. Since I play two musical instruments I was interested to see how many musical terms the author used. She used some terms but not very fancy ones and are not worth listing.

Describe a confusing part

When Julie was about to enter the wild she didn't want Gillian to come then in the book it said she wanted her to come at the last second then she didn't. But gillian didn't respond and there where no italics or indications of thinking in her mind that Gillian should come.

In the last part I read Julie said to her self "The wild's out to get me." I believe this is true and another fairy tale character is going to mess with Julie to keep her from finding her mom.

1. Tell what happened
Well basically this book is about a girl named Julie and her mom is Rapunzel (Zel for short). The whole book has fairy tale characters in it Ill get to the in a Second. So Julie has this thing under her bed called the Wild. It is a ball of vines that eats her shoes. So one day Julie's mom invites the 7 dwarves for dinner and Julie's Grandmother Gothel. Her grandmother owns a motel that has a wishing well in it that works! But it's not that simple. If you make a wish then you will be starting a fairy tale event and the wild will grow. so while gothel was at Julie's house someone made a wish, wishing that the wild were back. So the wild is pretty much a fairy tale land that you can't escape. So you will be constantly doing an event Like losing a slipper again and again and again. So since the wild grew it has taken over a whole city block and Julie's friend Goldie is complaining that she won't go back to stealing porridge! That should count for two responses!!!

2. Tell how you would feel if you were a character
Julie found out about the wild on CNN the next morning. She thought she might have been the one to do that because she made a wish last night. So if i were Julie i would be freaking out and want to find my mom.

3. Describe a part that surprised you
I was most surprised when a SWAT helicopter flew over the wild to shoot it or what ever. Then the wild shot a vine up to the helicopter and totally stopped the blades. The chopper was then dragged into the wild to become a fairy tale.

4. Predict what will happen next
I think that Julie will have to find a way to get into the wild without getting stuck by looking at new fairy tale books. Her mother escaped the Wild 500 years ago now she has to rescue her.

I know I am only supposed to do 4 responses this week bur i need to make up for last week :(

1. Make a pediction
I was right on my last prediction. Julie went through some fairy tale books at the library. The librarian told her that the book she need was checked out. I predict that much later in the book that the person who checked out the book on how to escape the wild was the person who set the wild free.

2. Tell what happened
Since all the characters are fairy tale characters in the real world they all have jobs like Rapunzel owns a hair salon. The frog prince is nature specialist in the okefenokee swamp. Aladdin is a fighter jet pilot in the air-force (Get it he flew the carpet in the movie now he flies jets). Pinocchio Is and actor since he is a "real boy".

3. Tell about how a character feels
Julie comes back from the library to find Boots (Puss in Boots, her brother)leaving the house with a sack of clothes. He left to find Love in the wild since no cat talks in the real world. This makes Julie feel alone because all of her family has left her.

4. A part that surprised me
Julie's mom Went into the wild to save Gothel which the wild took as a first victim. It would have surprised me more if I hadn't read the back cover. This was't in order just in case you got confused.

5. describe a part that confused you
When boots left I can see why he did but he acted like he hated Julie then It was weird with the wording and all.
Why did boots leave bus money for julie? She wasn't going anywhere boots knew that.

books with a suspenseful climax

Pages 100-finished (short book)I am doing this second one because i forgot to do one last week.

1. Tell what happened:
As I predicted in my last response something bad did happen. Their guide Moises went over a hill to check out a weird sound. Then CRACK!! He was shot by the U.S. boarder patrol. So they are now back to three people again, and miguel doesn't like were this math is going.

2. Ask questions about stuff in book:
Why did the patrol shoot moises? couldn't they give a warning first or something? Would that get them into trouble? They could have tranquilized him or stunned him somehow. but don't shoot him!

3. Tell about the part that surprised you:
When the trio came apon a sandstorm. They hunkered down with their tarps over themselves like a ca-coon. Then in the evening they awoke and Javier was gone he left only his pack ant his water bottle. The two of them convinced themselves that the needed to move on to save energy.

4. My feelings on an event in the story:
Miguel and Elena after a day of hiking came across a body. A woman with a baby in her arms. This kind of scared me as I pictured it in my mind, because the desert preserves flesh for years. So this body could have been here for a while. Not to long after the come across a big road and a night sky line.

5. End of book, my thoughts...
The end in my opinion could have ended better. Basically the last chapter takes place ten years later and miguel Graduated college, Elena married Chuy (miguel's childhood friend). Miguel is talking on the phone to Elena and from what it looks like i think Elena is back in Mexico. This wasn't actually said but there were hints here and there. They were talking about next time they should meet then the book ends. This was a pretty good book and it is a quick ssyra book if you need to read one.

1. Tell what happened:
The three of them Miguel, Elena, And Javiar(javi)are hanging on the mata gente Which means people killer.It is an ordinary freight train that people jump onto to get to the north. There are train gangs that try to loot people and will rape children. To avoid that Elena writes AIDS on her chest to prevent rape.

2. Describe a part that suprised you:
What suprised me the most in the portion of the book that i read this week is when the mata gente derailed and killed hundreds of people. Lukily the trio was not aboard, as they chased off by boarder patrol.

3. Describe your feelings if you were a character:
If i were Miguel I would first want to get away from those patrols. Javi hurt his foot while running so i went to find some water. when i came back an indian couple were with Elena and Javi. Javi told me we had a ride north, and we used all our money.I got very angry but Elena thought it was the best way to go. we argued but i finally gave in later that night.

4. Describe your favorite part:
My favorite part is when they stow away in the coffee truck that the Indian couple offered to them. Then they reached the boarder town. According to Don clemente's directions they had to find EL Polmero at the boot stall. The man at the boot stall asked them questions about Don to see if they where the ones. They passed and the prepared to cross the boarder.

5. Make a prediction:
They crossed the boarder after hiking all night and the boot maker's real name is Moises. I predict that they will make it to california but something bad will happen, like maybe one of them is bitten by a rattle snake or stung by a scorpion. That would make the book more interesting.
