I don't want to devote anymore class time to "making" anyone read it. If you like the book you should have no issue with reading the rest on your own. If you didn't like it or were tired of it then you can breathe a sigh of relief. Fair enough?
Anything that makes you go, "Seriously? What is wrong with people?" I love suspense, mystery and horror, but good ones are hard to find.
p.s.As you get older you will start wanting to read a lot more non-fiction for some reason.
I'm going to let you in on a great secret...www.readingrants.org is a great place to find YA books with stunning reviews. Check it out
Yeah, that tends to be a problem with reading a novel in a class...The people that already know just can't keep it to themselves. It's still fascinating to hear her tell the story.
I feel like most of you like this book so far, even if it is a little racy. I hope you don't get bored with it before we get to the ending. How will I ever top this book next 9 weeks?
due every week just two week's worth of responses in each folder. so post this week's and next week's here
It's now in 2 week intervals. This one lasts until Friday October 2nd.Ashley, I told you on Friday to post your entry under last weeks topic. post it here. you're fine
Post here! You must post by midnight on the Friday in which your response is due.do all 5 in one box if you have enough characters (the character count is under the box and tells you how many more things you can type in the box)
Example:Story of a Girl by Sara Zarr
pg 120/208
9/4/09
Describe your feelings about the events
Deanna Lambert, the main character, was caught in the backseat of a car with a boy... in middle school...by her father...with her older brother's best friend! If that doesn't scream soap opera and drama I don't know what does. I wouldn't even be able to look my father in the face after that and Deanna seems to be having that same problem. Not only has she been shunned by her family, she is getting it at school too.
She and her friend go to put in job applications and people that have graduated from her high school are recognizing her as the "school slu" I hope she can shake this bad girl persona and quick; though I don't know how she'll do that.
Aaron- you could do one every day for 5 days since you have alimited amount of characters in the comment box.First one isn't until the 11, so I'm not posting the first reader response until Saturday.
1. Find the folder labeled Reader Response (duh)2. Find the topic with the correct dates (9/4-4/11 will be the first entry)
3.reply to the topic, setting up your reply as instructed on your daily reading response paper I handed out in class
* you can do all 5 in one post or 5 seperate posts under the same date
Right Behind YouInside Out
I can't decide between the two... I've decided I need to read more books with male characters
HiPlease use this account to post discussions on books we are reading in class, as one of your reader responses in a week, and to tell everyone of a book that you really loved or hated.
Please use your common sense and good judgment when posting. The rules that apply at school and in the classroom apply here as well.
Thank you and enjoy.
Ms. Nelson
