235722 Theres heaps of explanations on the throne demons and the dark and light child in the next book! It's kept simple enough too that I wasnt like umm wtf are these demon/gods and why are they doing this.

Also I am unsure who the female champion leader is, do you mean the one that gives her advice before she goes to fight or the society chick that was in love with the king?

235722 SOOOOOOO i actually really enjoyed this even if I would describe it as super cheesy and super tropey but in a okay done way XD

The plot jumped so fast my head was like wtf is even happening and ofcourse we have the firey female with fire powers and the stoic prince with ice powers.

I just had a heap of fun and thought the fight scenes were super well done I even jumped straight into the next book which THANKFULLY the editing/writing improves a heap.

235722 ALLRIGHT I AM DONE

Is Nat made of rubber how many times does that kid come back to life?

The little mouths!! SO CUTE MY HONEY OCTOPUS INVISIBLE DRAGON LIKE CREATURES

Kirit - I found her to be dull and would have liked more personality from her, the only time I really liked her was when she was angry and ready to destroy things because we'd get something from her.

The twins: I really enjoyed them and would have liked to know more about them

Wiks: So glad he didn't turn into a love interest, he's a sneak and the whole "i didn't tell you for your own good" " i wasnt actually going to let the monster eat your aunt just other people" yeah no.

Sellis: I felt she was added in for some drama, she was instantly the aggressor and the closest thing Kirit had to an "enemy" I felt her character was flat and only there to add to get Kirit into trouble so the plot could move along.

The visuals: I really loved the spires, how they grew, the carvings, and the descriptions of flying and the different gusts- it really drew me in and made me feel the danger that comes with flying.

Overall - plot was okay, Characters were not for me, but the descriptions, unique world, and monsters were right up my ally.

235722 Excitement thread!
Basically leave your thoughts on the book, any predictions, if you've read a book like this before? What do you guys think of the "training" trope, you know it, main character has to learn how to fight/kill/ or in this case fly? I like it if done originally and this doesn't sound like a training story I've read before so I'm pretty pumped to see what happens.

235722 Back away if you have not finished this book this part is dark and full of spoilers *evil laugh*

235722 EEP NOVEMBER! I am super excited for this months book, bring on learning how to fly and a city of living bone, mixed with training with the elite - hold me back from starting right now.

In a city of living bone rising high above the clouds, where danger hides in the wind and the ground is lost to legend, a young woman must expose a dangerous secret to save everyone she loves.

Welcome to a world of wind and bone, songs and silence, betrayal and courage.

Kirit Densira cannot wait to pass her wingtest and begin flying as a trader by her mother's side, being in service to her beloved home tower and exploring the skies beyond. When Kirit inadvertently breaks Tower Law, the city's secretive governing body, the Singers, demand that she become one of them instead. In an attempt to save her family from greater censure, Kirit must give up her dreams to throw herself into the dangerous training at the Spire, the tallest, most forbidding tower, deep at the heart of the City.

As she grows in knowledge and power, she starts to uncover the depths of Spire secrets. Kirit begins to doubt her world and its unassailable Laws, setting in motion a chain of events that will lead to a haunting choice, and may well change the city forever - if it isn't destroyed outright.

Who's joining in on this read! We'll be starting Friday the 17th

235722 The more I think about Teo and his strangeness about finding his echo the more I believe how he could be traitorous, I think on reread I'd be able to pick even more clues up about him.

The deaths were abrupt and a little unexpected but I loved how it escalated so quickly and couldn't stop reading, within a matter of 15 pages everything went to shit! I liked the faes being more background too! Although I admit I don't read too many fae stories so I didn't mind seeing common things like iron and the sacred ground killing etc...

SO glad you enjoyed it Joyce! Millie's POV is definitely awesome 😊

235722 invisible Elliot dragon was amazing, I loved his role, I loved Caryls backstory and how it came out I loved Millie and completely agree that loving her will make you love this book although I thoroughly enjoyed the world and portal talk :)

Everything played out perfectly for me the plotting, the slow realisation of what was going on, how all the side characters actually and larger and important roles plot wise.

I disliked Gloria and was happy to see her be the one to die (sorry i enjoy gritty ending and it made the book for me) Also TEO so much more depth then I expected, the scene were he's stabbing his own hand, perfectly terrifying.

Millie and Caryl I really wanted them to just get together already but I have a feeling their story arc is going to be awesome so I'm excited to see what happens in the next books!

Anywayss.. stabbing, magic, complicated plot, resolved ending that could work as a standalone? These are a few of my favourite things :D

Also on the heavier side the talk of physical and mental disabilities was awesome and I felt tackled really well, i loved that Millie addressed that the group was using MI sufferers for their own gain if something went wrong because it's easier to dismiss them as lying, I was wondering if it would tackle that as soon as I realised everyone in the project was recruited similarly to Millie.

235722 eep! I'm already excited.

One - drones, done and done I love me a good drone XD
Two - A CAGE FIGHTING MAIN CHARACTER? I have never read this before and I didn't know I needed this so much until now.

Also snow in the title is as christmassy as I shall get book wise :'D

*side note* this is only $10 on book depository right now

235722 I'm 100 pages in and I loved the opening and how much description was used when describing Millies prosthetic's. I've been looking for some own voice reviews but can't seem to find any so if anyone spots one send it my way please :)

Oooooh! The audio is either going to be amazing or really confusing I think, but let me know how the narrators are I love audios :D My audio selections are usually pretty random, I'm listening to Good Omens at the moment and it's hilarious and so well done. Excited to see what you think of The Chimes :D
