Water for elephants is an historical novel or a deep and spectacular novel as the author Sara Gruen and other people call it.Canadians should read this novel, and so should other people who has the slightest interest or concern about the animals in the world. "I don't like the look of their bull man and I couldn't let him take her- God only knows where she'd end up. I love that bull, and I couldn't let her go." Jacob says.
Water for elephants is not only an amazing book, but an unexpected romance, adventures and historical as well. While reading the book, not only you think you understand or know the characters of the novel, but you feel like you are actually standing in front of each character and watching what they are doing. You feel like you are inside the book, going back in time and watching how people used to live in early 1800-90's.
The book immediately gives the reader an important message about animals, and how important they are in this world. It explains that animals has this really close, important, and special bond with humans. You can make a lot of personal connections wit this novel, as well as feel really connected with each character of the novel. The novel is magnificently deep, and shocking. In every chapter something shocking happens, that it makes it really hard for the reader to stop reading it.
I think immigrants that comes to Canada should mostly read this book because its all about animals and what they mean in this world. Usually from the countries that immigrants come from, animals are being treated poorly. And this book is a big message to them about how they should treat the animals from now on. Also Canadians don't really treat animals really fairly too. They lock them up in cages in zoos, just for an entertainment for people.
Basically the novel explains the readers that what is the point of locking up animals in cages, feeding them rarely, and beating them up because sometimes they don't listen to their owners. Animals wants their freedom too, and they are not garbage that you could do anything you want with them. They are very special in this world and our lives depend on them, just as theirs depend on us.
Water for elephants introduces a whole new aspect to the novel. Love. It introduces the love between the animals and the humans. While you read the novel, you think you are actually watching a movie that you never want it to come to an end. It sends out a big and important message to the world. So not just Canadians should read this novel, but other people that are living all around the world should read it too.
The book I chose is "Spring Break" by a famous and talented author named Kayla Perrin. Kayla Perrin piqued my interest by how she talked about three college girls' lives after going to a coribbean island to relax and enjoy life. This author cought my attention instantly because my freinds and family talk a lot about her novels and her other works all the time. I have heared a lot about her and when I saw her novel, I immediately took it and decided that I am going to read this book. I really like the way how she started her story by writing about these three girls' lives and how their lives changed after going to the island for a vacation, and how it starts to get a little bit mysteries and scary after they get seperated from each other. One thing that cought my attention was the title of the book because when I read it to myself, I got this feeling that this is one of those exciting and scary books that i read most of the time. Also the cover really cought my attention because when I saw it I really liked the colors and the pictures. It just immediately represented the whole story. By reading a few pages what, I liked the most is that there are some really specific parts where it is kind of serious where all these freinds care about each other, love each other, and worry about each other. I found a really interesting thing about this book, and that is that I can make a lot of connections with these characters of the book with some of my few friends that I am really close with, and I guess that is the second thing that made me want to choose this book.
