71023 Unfortunately it seems like it has died in the water. However, if we get enough renewed interest, I'll definitely start it up again.

Yup. I'm not going to create multiple topics this time.

@Keith: No problem! Glad to hear you've got something working.

71023 Mid-November as of now. However, I may push that a little later depending on how many entries we get.

71023 Easier doesn't always mean better! However, who's to say that you can't be grateful for death? Remember: as long as the prompt is used in some way, your story can be about anything. Sometimes the most perverse stuff is the best.

71023 Apologies for the pun. I was really reaching with that one.

Anyhow, we're back!

It's Canadian Thanksgiving this weekend, so our prompt is... death.

Nah, just kidding, it's thanks and gratitude.

Rules: Any piece of writing that has never been previously published or entered into a contest is eligible, so long as it relates to the prompt.

Get creative! If you wanna create a graphic novel, or an audiobook, go ahead! We love to see (or hear) your work.

To your pens fellow artists!

71023 Starting from Sunday, we'll be having another contest and a few other things starting. So keep an eye out for that.

As always, if you have any ideas post them here, or if you'd rather not have everyone see them, PM them to me.

Enjoy the weekend everyone!

Rather than delete them, I'll archive them. I'd rather not remove topics with valuable comments in them. I do agree that the page could be cleaned up a little though.

71023 Alright! Here we go.

As always, we'll have the contest up and running shortly, but other than that what things would you like to see.

One thing I'm thinking of doing is a featured piece of writing and/or reviews. Thoughts?

71023 Hello everyone!

The other thread was behaving strangely, so I'm starting a new one.

For those of you who may not know I'm lafon حمزة نوفل, your mod. You can just call me lafon though.

I'm a 17 year old (nearly 18) student, who is addicted to books, computers, and hockey. I'm also an IT technician.

What about all of you?

71023 Welcome everyone! Thanks to everyone who PM'd me. I'm going to close and archive this thread and create a new one, because Goodreads topics behave strangely when there are too many posts (usually over 500).

71023 First up and apology: I've taken a really long time to reveal our winners for this month, and for that I'm sorry.

On to more pleasant subjects though!

You guys are the most depressing jerks I've come across. Your writing. Jeez. I love it.

Another reason we took so long is because Fang and I had a hard time deciding between y'all. Really, really great writing here.

Without further ado though, our winners.

Numey has won our contest for this month with Heartbeats, and bonds with Time. - One, and only One. We really loved it. Congratulations Numey. We'll contact you with the details for your prize.

In second place, and very touching, was Dreams Nitemare with Liberation.

Again, it was tougher than ever to choose the winners, so congratulations to all our entrants!

71023 Soon. Sorry guys, I've been working overtime for the last couple of days week and a half (wow, it's been that long?!) and I've been really busy. We're in the process of finalizing the winners, so please bear with us.
Jul 06, 2013 05:40PM

71023 Great job everyone! We'll announce the winners shortly.
Jun 30, 2013 05:32PM

71023 Perfectly fine. I'm going to leave this contest open until July the fifth, so you have until then everyone!
Jun 15, 2013 07:20AM

71023 Nice work so far guys. Keep it up!
Jun 02, 2013 04:43PM

71023 Sounds like an interesting book. The only thing is this folder is reserved for mods making announcements, so I'm going to move this thread to a more appropriate folder.
May 25, 2013 12:30PM

71023 Nope. It can be either poetry or straight up writing, whether fiction or not doesn't matter.

71023 Sarah wrote: "Funny, I read this book for school in April. It was probably one of the best books I've ever read."

Yeah, I read it last year I think. It really is a great book. The group chose it, though, so why don't you provide your opinion on it? What were your thoughts about the book?
May 24, 2013 03:06PM

71023 So as I mentioned in the rules topic, our prompt is family.

To your marks contestants. All entries must be submitted in this thread. Do read rules, please?
May 24, 2013 03:03PM

71023 We're back! This month's contest will be about family. Have a sibling that irks you to no end? A mother you'd do anything for? Embarrassing uncle? Welp, here's to them! And our contest of course.

The very helpful co-judge along with me will be Fang.

So the rules of this month:

1) It must be an original work (poetry or prose) related to this prompt. No previously published or entered works please.

2) Have fun!

Oh, and did I mention? We have a prize for this month: First place gets a personalised ebook from author Lena Goldfinch.

Enter in this thread.
