I believe she is very proud of you. I don't think we lose our connection with our loved ones. I can feel my mother's love in my heart.
Hi Rebecca - I read and saw the Notebook thankfully before my mother contracted the disease. I will never be able to read it or see the movie again. Alzheimer's is a devastating disease. It broke my heart to watch my mother forget my father, me, and her life.

In all of their almost 69 years together (marriage plus engagement), their love was constant and never waivered.

The Notebook hit very close to home for me. My mother got Alzheimer's disease and my father stood by her side for the two years she lived after diagnosis. It was heart-wrenching, just like the book. He died shortly after she did. I think, if it's possible, from a broken heart. They were married for over 66 years.
I have so many that are my favorites, but if I had to choose one to be my all-time favorite, it would be Gone With The Wind.I loved the Notebook and A Walk to Remember. I have both books and both movies. Love Nicholas Sparks.
I haven't read 1st To Die. Right now I'm judging 5 novels for the International Digital Awards and haven't been able to read from my TBR list. Let me know how you liked the book to help me determine if it's something I might want to put on my list.
Hi Donna, it's Janna. For people who don't know me, I'm a published author and a colleague of Donna's. We both have books published by Soul Mate Publishing.
