I'm right there with you! And it's hard to say, "Well, art is subjective, so people with different experiences are going to view my work differently." It truly is your baby and everyone should love it!

The whole drive to write it down is to tell that story to others. So when others read it and like it, it's magical!

I've also noticed that my life just doesn't feel right when I'm not writing. I'm a crankier person because I feel off-kilter. I figured out a (slightly gross) metaphor for it: Writing for me is like peeing. When I don't do for a while, it gets more and more uncomfortable and puts me on edge. When I finally do it, it's a relief and I wonder why I didn't do it sooner.

Is that weird? :)

9066 Hi! I'm Veronica. I just published my first book (novella) on Amazon recently. It's the first in a series about colonizing Mars (http://www.amazon.com/First-Grave-Mar...)

I've been writing since I learned to write letters, but this whole publishing/self-promotion thing is totally new and strange to me. Apparently I have some social-media anxiety, which I am working on getting over by joining every social media forum ever (approximately 10 billion). I also started a blog that has nothing to do with my book, but is just utter silliness (www.themelesswriting.com)

I love trailers for books and movies, so it'll be fun to be a part of this group and see everybody's different work.

And here's my trailer:
