It appears I am going to stay here for Quest #11. I chose Stephen King first, but wasn't thrilled with the authors I was given there, so I picked R. L. Stine instead for grins. From the literature map there, I chose Sarah Rayne and this book
A Dark DividingQuest #11 COMPLETE! 01/10/15 ★★★★★
I chose (B) Historical Fiction. Coming from A Million More Pages.I chose
The Spiritglass CharadeI rated it 4 ★★★★ but it has a rating of 4.04 stars on Goodreads. Yes, I recommend it - however, not as historical fiction, per se. There's way too much fantasy here for it to be categorized as straight historical fiction! It's also YA. I would also recommend reading the first book in the series before this one, The Clockwork Scarab. These books are a lot of fun - but not if you're a stickler for historical accuracy, lol!
LOL @ Abbie - you totally rock the support category, girlfriend! I actually was thinking about Bella when I was answering this question, but I couldn't remember if it was the violin she plays or not. Junior high-age musicians are a much better lot, in my opinion!
Finished
It was fun and worth the wait.
Favorite musical instrument? I do not HAVE a favorite musical instrument. But the not-yet-ex is a guitar player, so the guitar is definitely OUT.
I should've gone with the drummer, lol.
Ha! I finally caught one - and I'm listing it now before it gets away like the last one did! I chose "Popular", and I found
at #189 on the list.I've got it on hold at the library and it's on order. I'm #1 on the waiting list. I liked the first book in the series a lot and this one sounds good, too.
So, I'm waiting. But half of any Quest is the wait, right?
I am stalled out here on Quest #8. My tendency is towards Popular, but when I first looked, there were a couple of possible choices. Now I realize that this list changes monthly and tends to lead with the most recently published and therefore most expensive new books. The same with Goodreads Voice. When I click on ebooks, I get a lot of books that appear to be in Arabic, and so that won't work, either.I am looking to read books I already own. So I may be stuck here awhile.
I have been here for the last two Quests! I chose Joanne because of the three choices, when I compared our books, we had the most in common at 82%. From her books, I chose
, which has been in my Kindle tbr pile for a long time.Completed, 10/04/14. ★★★★★
I picked (b) The Blue Door, because I think it is the prettiest and also, blue is my favorite color. So, I am staying here at All Challenges All The Time, which is also where I will be posting my completed Quest #5 later on today. However, I have already picked the book for Quest #6, because I believe in being prepared!
The book is mentioned in the "What Are You Reading Now" heading under "Book Chat", message 42 by Diane.
It can be found here:
Completely forgot to post I had completed this Quest!

I am coming from A Million More Pages.I will be reading
In which all three words for Quest #5 can be found (I know, because I checked, lol!)
When I have finished the book, I will come back and post. (FYI - the ONLY one of the 9 words NOT found in this book is "scroll". I'd have thought for sure it would be there!)
Quest Completed 8/7/14
"From this place, we are invisible but have a clear view of the valley, which is teeming with summer life, greens to gather, roots to dig, fish iridescent in the sunlight." Location 98
"My mother had a book she'd brought with her from the apothecary shop." Location 517
"The grain was not enough to live on, and there were other things to buy, soap and milk and thread." Location 534
Well, this was a VERY short challenge for me. "First Ink" turned out to be a novella, which after reading the 645 page book for Quest One, was okay, I guess. I guess I should've picked Stephen King's "11/22/63" instead but I admit, I wasn't ready for another epic quest. However, this book was NOT epic in any way. I rated it 2-stars and wrote a review for it. The one thing it did accomplish was getting it out of my TBR pile, so that's good.I have decided to do Lachesis' Pit Stop next and already have all the books picked out.
P.S., not that it matters, but I am coming from Atropos at Wacky Reading Challenges for Quest One. Not sure I am grasping this concept. . .
Ok, I've compromised and bent the rules to my will. I finished my first Quest book and I need a new book before I go to work! This whole Quest Two thing was NOT working for me. My goal with the Quests are to whittle down my TBR Pile also, so I really wanted to pick a book I already own. I tried all three options (Random, Recent and Top) repeatedly. Finally, on "Recent", I noticed a link to the right that is labelled "Recent Reviews of my books", so I clicked that and came up with a review for a book in my Pile that I have not yet read. So I am going with:
This is a short book, which after Kate Morton's "The Forgotten Garden" will be okay.
I am having trouble picking a book for Quest #2 also.On "Top" I got nothing I'd ever even heard of.
On "Recent" I got weird posts that didn't have much to do with books per se, except one about gay sex.
And on "Random", I got this:
The Challenges in Administrative Political and Developmental Renewal in Africa: Emerging Issues
by John W. Forje
I was hoping to come across something already in my to-be-read pile. I'm certainly not paying money for the Africa book, sorry!! That sounds like a snoozer for sure, lol!!
At least Anita got "Gone Girl" by Gillian Flynn! Too bad I've already read it. . .
