"As yet too hungry and too clumsy for tenderness, still he made love with a sort of unflagging joy that made me think that male virginity might be a highly underrated commodity." - Claire Fraser 'Outlander'

Danielle The Book Huntress Judd might be Psy and Ice cold, but he sure does melt for Brenna and he takes charge in the bedroom.

Danielle The Book Huntress Really great idea for a list, Rae. Bless you!

message 7: by CaliGirlRae (new)

CaliGirlRae Thanks for voting, Danielle! I'm really glad to see your ratings on the ones you've read. Makes me really eager to read these books! :-D

Danielle The Book Huntress You know me. I have all kinds of love for the virgin heroes.

Lindsey http://www.likesbooks.com/virginal.html

Here is link to a great list of romance novels that feature virgin heroes. I had fun just looking through it and now can't wait to re-read some of my old favorites!

Danielle The Book Huntress That list was my shopping list, Lindsey. Most of the ones on there were really good too. I am always on the lookout for these guys. :)

message 11: by CaliGirlRae (new)

CaliGirlRae That so rocks! Thanks for posting that, Lindsey! I agree Danielle. What a shopping list!

message 12: by Julianna (new)

Julianna This is an awesome list! I love virgin heroes. I already had a lot of these on my TBR list and have already read a few, but I still found several new ones to add. Can't wait to read about more of these yummy guys.;-)

Danielle The Book Huntress I have found that I have really liked most of the virgin hero books I've read. :)

message 14: by CaliGirlRae (new)

CaliGirlRae Thanks to everyone who've contributed. This is a great set of books! I can't wait to dive in myself. :-)

message 15: by Varsha (new)

Varsha thanks guys... amazing list

message 16: by Rhianna (new)

Rhianna Fabulous list! I LOVE virgin heroes. But Susan Grant's How to Lose an Extraterrestrial in 10 Days is missing from the list... it's a scifi romance that features a virgin hero.

Danielle The Book Huntress Hi Rhianna. I have the Susan Grant book in my list of books to read. I never get enough of the virgin heroes.

message 18: by CaliGirlRae (last edited Sep 23, 2009 08:41PM) (new)

CaliGirlRae Should be on the list now. :-) Feel free to vote for your favorites! Thanks to all who've voted so far. Please feel free to add more if you like. :-)

message 19: by Mir (new)

Mir This list should probably omit kids' books (I see some Harry Potter on here) since they most always feature virgins!

message 20: by Lindsey (new)

Lindsey Does everyone else agree to adult fiction only? I'm willing to clean it up a bit if everyone is okay with that. I would suggest removing Twilight and the Harry Potter series at least. I see this list as being more for adult romance genre fiction. What does everyone else think?

message 21: by willaful (new)

willaful I agree that Harry Potter doesn't belong. Also, the hero of The Secret Pearl is not a virgin.

message 22: by Mel (last edited Mar 02, 2010 11:04AM) (new)

Mel Who exactly is a virgin in Bitten (Women of the Otherworld, #1) by Kelley Armstrong ?
And I've added: No Rest for the Wicked (Immortals After Dark, #3) by Kresley Cole

message 23: by Mel (new)

Mel He wasn't? Are you sure?

Anybody figured out who the virgin was in Bitten?

message 24: by Mel (new)

Mel Ah okay.
Anyway: Bitten should go off the list cause Clay sure was no virgin in that one.

message 25: by willaful (new)

willaful Did some googling and it seems to confirm that the hero in No Rest for the Wicked was just celibate, not a virgin. Yes, I am very anal. ;-)

message 26: by Mel (new)

Mel LOL. Unfortunately I can't delete the book.
It just really annoys me that someone nominated Bitten. :grumble grumble:

Nichole (DirrtyH) Mel wrote: "LOL. Unfortunately I can't delete the book.

I can delete it - are we sure Bitten doesn't have a virgin hero? I'm pretty sure but I could get in trouble for just arbitrarily deleting a book from a listopia list so I want to be 100%.

Nichole (DirrtyH) Also... does Lover Enshrined count? Didn't Phury have sex with a hooker in a bathroom in a previous book?

message 29: by Mel (new)

Mel I am positive that Clay wasn't a virgin in Bitten. I am almost sure he had sex before Elena. I think I read it in Men of the Otherworld. I'll be home tomorrow, I'll look it up then.

message 30: by Mel (new)

Mel Oh and Nichole, I'll look up Phury's little adventure too.

message 31: by Mel (last edited Mar 31, 2010 11:21AM) (new)

Mel Nichole, thanks to the very helpful gals at the Kelley Armstrong boards I have learned the following: our sexy sociopath Clay was indeed a virgin when he met Elena (why do I keep wanting to write that name with an h?)! BUT he wasn't a virgin anymore in Bitten cause he'd been with Elena for over 5 or 10 years. So... it's your call to keep or delete the book.

Nichole (DirrtyH) K, I deleted The Secret Pearl and Bitten.
I hope you guys feel confident in that because there's all kinds of warnings when you delete a book from a Listopia list. :) Even when I'm 100% sure it makes me nervous.

message 33: by Mel (new)

Mel LOL, I'll be sleeping with the lights on tonight if I were you....;)

message 34: by willaful (new)

willaful You can feel confident about The Secret Pearl, I looked it up. Can give you a page number if necessary ;-)

Nichole (DirrtyH) K, No Rest For the Wicked deleted.

message 36: by Hannah (new)

Hannah I tried to add Mistress of Rome by Kate Quinn. Thea popped Arius' cherry. >.>

message 37: by [deleted user] (new)

The heroine in Rebecca really wasn't a virgin very long as she and Max got married almost immediately.

I guess the point is they got married?????

I had fun going down the lists too but found I have read none of them! I guess I prefer wicked ladies!

message 39: by willaful (new)

willaful Here's a new one: Lysander in "The Darkest Angel" by Gena Showalter. From Heart of Darkness

message 40: by Arabellavidal (new)

Arabellavidal I don't think any of Judith Macnaught's heroes are either virgins or inexperienced.

message 41: by Readdiction (new)

Readdiction Arabellavidal wrote: "I don't think any of Judith Macnaught's heroes are either virgins or inexperienced."

I agree!!

message 42: by willaful (new)

willaful Why is Rebecca on the list?

message 43: by willaful (last edited Mar 25, 2011 06:52PM) (new)

willaful I've read Rebecca many times and I can't think of any way it belongs on this list.

message 44: by Readdiction (new)

Readdiction Rose wrote: "The Marriage Bed, by Claudia Dane, does NOT belong on this list. The hero's guilt over sleeping with a woman other than the heroine (prior to the start of the novel) makes up a large part of the pl..."

I keep seeing this book on ALL the virgin heroes list. So weird!!

message 45: by willaful (new)

willaful The internet is like that -- things get imported and copied and errors multiply exponentially.

message 46: by Tynna (new)

Tynna The Shattered Rose-Jo Beverly (he's technically not a v but he only ever sleeps with his wife), Lion's Legacy-Suzanne Barclay, Blackwind:Sean & Bronwyn-Charlotte Boyett Compo, The Preacher's Daughter-Cheryl St John, Taken by a Texan-Lass Small (I'm mentioning it cause he's a v BUT the book is awful lol), The Bridegroom's Vow-Rebecca Winters, The Lone Texan-Jodi Thomas. They are all V heroes. PS-I'm pretty sure, almost possitive that Kiss Me Annabel-Eloisa James hero wasn't a v. He just hadn't been with anyone since he was young. I can remember thinking, "wait, the list said he was a v but he's not"-don't quote me on that though. wow, this is long. happy reading!

message 47: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Robinson While I love book number 102 on this list, nick Gentry was not a virgin, he had hired a prostitute to teach him all about sex and was quit knowledgeable when he meets Charlotte. I reread this book at least once a year, it's great but the hero is not virginal in the least.

message 48: by Cassie (new)

Cassie It's been a while since I read 'The Darknest Night' by Gena Showalter, but I'm pretty sure I read a scene where Maddox said that he has had sex with the women who came looking for Paris. I'm not 100% sure. I never thought he was virgin.
Does anyone know if I'm right or not?

message 49: by Karenfaith (new)

Karenfaith The hero of Shelter Mountain isn't a virgin... He is just inexperienced...

You're right. ;)
