Books that I would like to read

The #1 book that I suspect got spam voted up there is not even a 2014 book. It was published LAST year. I hate authors that tamper with listopias.

Dear Shiloh, Pls. don't hate whom you don't know. OK to comment on the behavior but not the person. To clarify... book in question was pub'd Nov 2013 but author didn't market it to public until 2014. Intentions were honest & good. Pls don't make it bigger than it is. Thanks. --KMP

Sorry, Kat. I wouldn't have removed if it had been published in 2014, as noted in the list description. We will try to be a little more gracious in the future. :)

Well, it was poor behavior. Rules are for everyone. And there are many authors on Goodreads who think they are immune to them. I literally had to delete my Goodreads account and go private because of the amount of spam requests I was getting from authors here. I have been a member since Oct. 2010. I have little patience left.

Yes, thank you Robin. :) Now that I understand the rules, I will abide by them. Wasn't clear that they were so rigid - in my own mind, I did publish in 2014. It's that whole "if a tree falls in the forest, thing." ;)
And, PS, Shiloh. I'm sorry to hear you have had such a tough go of it with spammers. Hope things work out for you... just suggesting you re-think taking out your frustration on individual authors who put a lot of heart, soul & time into their work. Next time, pls. give us the benefit of the doubt. I can't speak for all the authors who were removed, but I personally did meet with local book groups, and they did like my book, and hence voted for me on this list. No hard feelings, k? Take care of yourself and don't stress so much. All caps reactions can cause heart problems from what I understand. --KMP

Thanks. Trust me, I do. I work with authors every day. It's my job. But my account as a reader/blogger is a different story. I just want to read and review books without a hassle.

I try to give benefit of doubt whenever possible but I have seen many lists where this has happened and it's frustrating when it keeps happening. That said, thanks for being kind.

No heart problems here. And I don't believe I typed in all caps either, but people see what they want to see, I suppose.

Hi Shiloh, yeah, just the word "LAST," in your original post... which, I can assure you, gave *me* heart problems! As an author, it's so emotional putting your stuff out there for people to pick at, and of course you want everyone to like it, and of course everyone has a right to their own opinions, but well, anyway... dead horse... I'm done. ;) Maybe, someday, if you have time, you can read & review my book. Would love to hear your professional opinion! Thx. --KMP

According to Goodreads, Tuesdays With Morrie was first published in 1997.

The Shack at #40 was published in 2007. It shouldn't be on this lust.
