The Story of Babar (Babar, #1)
by
"I also loved all of the Babar stories as a very young child. I think I learned to read, in large part, by following along in my copies of the books to a cassette tape my mom made out of desperation because I wanted to be read to all day"

by
"My fourth grade teacher read this book to us when I was in the fourth grade. She read it in the fall and I loved it so much I asked for (and received) the whole Chronicles of Narnia for Christmas. I think I have read it at least once a year since then!"

The Headless Cupid (Stanley Family, #1)
by
"I found this one when looking for something a bit spooky. The story is just the right mix of reality and ghost story to captivate a child who likes scary, but not too scary stories."

The Hundred Dresses
by
"I guess I kind of related to the outcast Wanda. I was one of those poor children who were targeted for ridicule. I certainly had more than one dress to wear to school, but was by no means dressed as fashionably as my peers seemed to think important. The moral of the story felt very fitting to me."

Anne of Green Gables (Anne of Green Gables, #1)
by
"As much as I love Anne and the whole series of books it should be higher on the list, however I didn't discover Anne until I was in my 20's and the mother of three. I can't for the life of me figure out how an avid reader like myself missed out on these delightful books when I was younger. I love this character so much I even named my youngest daughter (middle name) Anne, yes after the heroine of these books.."

"B" Is for Betsy
by
"I found these books at the public library. I liked the sweetness of Betsy and longed for a little sister like Star. When my sister was finally born I wanted to name her the way Betsy was able to, but in the long run I'm glad my parents named her, I would have probably chosen something too odd."

Pollyanna (Pollyanna, #1)
by
"My mom introduced me to this book when I was in the sixth grade. I loved cheerful Pollyanna and was so disappointed when I saw how the Disney movie messed up the plot. It is so much more charming in book form and Pollyanna is NOT disobedient. "
