My Israeli husband will read nothing but Daniel Silva. He really liked The English Assassin and Prince of Fire.

I'm glad we included his favorites, Maida. And I hope Silva can write fast enough to keep him in books! 📚

I've read all of them and could be convinced to read the selection of the month, whichever it is, again. I tend to prefer the earlier ones but these selections are all pretty early in the series.

Is The Unlikely Spy a stand-alone?
(I've only read one, LA, and it's not supposed to have been one of his best. In this connection, Stacey's your match. 🙂)

I’ve read 1-19…or maybe 20 or 21. Honestly, I can vaguely connect plot points with specific titles only on a couple, like The English Assassin. Others on the list sort of are vaguer. I’m good with any below #20. However, we’ll be out of the country for much of October.

That's the way I am on plot-driven books. Can't remember much once done. For ex, Harry Potter.
Have a good trip, and you still get to vote, Mel. No one will check to see if you read it. ;)

The other one, not so much, I guess.

Hard to believe The Unlikely Spy was written almost 30 years ago!
When I was looking them up for the poll, I noticed there's a new series as well, with several books in it.

I'll probably stick to Gabriel Allon, but I'm starting to find that after a dozen or 15 books in any series I get tired of the author's voice and style. (Doesn't always stop me from reading them, though!)

Would you believe it? My father passed away last Friday, and as I was packing my things, I found in his carry bag, a pair of glasses and the book the Unlikely Spy by Daniel Silva. I believe he had just started it. I also found another pair of glasses. Naturally I wanted to both keep and eventually read it. It is 30 years old and the pick for November? Well thank you, dear God. What a unique gift...
