How many years did you spend with Laddie and what caused you to bond so closely with him?

Don Marler Laddie and I spent fifteen years together from the time he was a twelve-week-old puppy in human years until he was fifteen years in human terms. (That would mean he was one-hundred and five dog-years-old.) The reason we bonded so closely was that we learned that both of us would always do our best to protect each other even if we might die while doing so. That mutual trust turned into a deep love that never went away.
