When I was little, I heard my neighbors fighting, heard gun shots, and then nothing. Months passed. Their grass grew tall and their cars never came home. One day, because I was young and stupid, I decided to head into their house and investigate myself. The place looked like they'd packed and left in a hurry. Some things were left half done. Eventually I learned the two had gone through a nasty divorce and both halves of the couples left, assuming the other had stayed at the house.
