Goodreads asked Jennifer Starzec:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Jennifer Starzec When an idea pops into your head, write it down ASAP, even if it's just a sentence or two in the notes on your phone. Inspiration often comes from the most unlikely of places and most inopportune of times, but you should try to take it when it comes, because it's hard to force yourself to be inspired. I've written many blog posts, poems, and opening chapters at 4 in the morning, which isn't the most convenient time to write, but they often end up being some of my best work.
Also, just write. Write whatever comes to mind. Write what you enjoy. If you live your life believing that you can't write, or you're terrible at it, you'll never get anywhere. No one is born with eloquent words coming from their pen; everyone has to start somewhere, and you'll never improve yourself if you don't practice.
