Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Robert K. Sutton My family--my great, great, great grandmother, great, great grandfather, and my great grandfather settled in Kansas in 1855. While they did not settle in Lawrence, they were against slavery, and my great grandfather Isco Pony Sutton fought in the Kansas Cavalry in the Civil War. The family connection was the hook, but as I dug deeper, I was drawn into the huge struggle to ensure that Kansas would be a free state, and the antislavery settlers there would do whatever it took to end slavery in the United States forever.
