Finish the book. If you're passionate about a story idea, keep going. It doesn't have to be Pulitzer prize winning. But there's something magical that happens when you take an idea and follow it to completion. Don't keep polishing the opening chapters -- move on. It gives you an enormous sense of accomplishment.

Do you live in Colorado Springs? Am really enjoying The Past Came Running - and love your references about the Springs. I was the trade book buyer at the Colorado College Bookstore for twenty years and cannot recall another trade book with as many "tidbits" about our town! REALLY enjoying the book and am recommending it to a good friend who is a CSPD detective!!
