Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Larry Edwards Considering I have two new books coming out, Sept. & Oct., I'll take this one at a time. Style & Spice came about because the incredible flavors and dishes of the American Southwest have been ignored. Not only is this one of the most robust of any American cuisines, it is also one of the healthiest. As most scientific studies have recently shown, the herbs and spices used in Southwest cooking are known cancer fighters. As far as The American Table, the idea for this cookbook came about simply because I miss and often times crave the classic dishes from the famed diners, cafes and roadside eateries which at one time dotted our gorgeous American landscape. These truly are the ultimate in comfort foods.
