Goodreads asked Clay Gilbert:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Clay Gilbert I don't believe in writer's block. I think it's something people expect to have, stemming from an over-romanticizing of the writing process. Regularity is the key. I write every day, in the same spot, in my chair at my desk. Develop a routine, and your subconscious--the part of your brain that drives creative endeavor--will learn to respond. But really--you don't ever hear about plumber's block or carpenter's block or teacher's block or cab driver's block. Writer's block is a made-up thing, and you can train yourself to write anytime.
