How do you deal with writer’s block?

Steven McFadden Having started out in newspapers back in the 1970s, I soon learned that writer's block was a luxury no editor would ever grant to me. Deadlines were always looming, and you had to produce on schedule. In this manner I learned to do my best, submit the work, and then move on to the next assignment.

Back in those days at the Watertown Sun and Belmont Herald we were still using hot-lead linotype machines, and setting the headlines by hand. Things have come a long, long way since then
