How do you deal with writer’s block?

Sarah O'Rourke Honestly, I deal in a variety of ways depending on how thick the barrier is between me and all the words. Sometimes, taking the dog on a walk cures the problem. Other times, playing music will help. During the severest cases (when I'm under extreme deadline), I've been known to pack a bag and check into the nearest Best Western. Seriously. A change of scenery can do wonders. And when it's just you, a desk, and your laptop with no outside distractions, it can make every difference.
