Sue Williams asked Nick Wisseman:

Hi Nick, I love it that you have so many pets..... almost. What I want to know is if your Red Wraith books need to be read in order? I am pretty good at figuring out what is going on even when I don't start with the first one, but it is so much faster to read them in the right order. By the way, weird fiction is great Keep writing it.

Nick Wisseman Hi, Sue! I definitely plan to keep writing weird fiction, and the pets help with that. I’m never quite sure which way is up around here😊

As far as the current Red Wraith books go, The Battle Dancer and The Ascenders are meant as prequels to The Red Wraith. (Originally, they were all part of one manuscript, but it made for too many viewpoint characters, so I split things up.) I’d recommend going 1) The Battle Dancer, 2) The Ascenders, and 3) The Red Wraith. Several people have read them out of order without being too confused, though, so it’s up to you. The only other thing to know is that The Battle Dancer and The Ascenders aren’t fully self-contained—their true endings come in The Red Wraith.

Thanks for the question, and happy reading!
