Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Lee Hutch When I was completing my MA in History, I interviewed a few dozen German fire service personnel who worked during World War Two. As a serving firefighter at that time (I'm now retired), I often contemplated what that must have been like for them. It took many years before I started writing my novel, but I got there eventually.
