Goodreads asked Jade Thorn:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Jade Thorn I actually get this question a lot, despite being a new author myself. There are two things I would suggest:

Read lots. There's nothing like a good story to get your own imagination fired up. It also helps you to pick up tips on style and substance. When you're reading something, think about what parts of it you liked and disliked and try to apply it to your own writing.

Write lots. "Siren" was my first published book, but by no means the first thing I had ever written. I've been writing since I was about 9. I have a whole filing cabinet full of stories and story ideas. You don't have to have a crazy output like that, but the more you practice it, the better you will get. xoxo
