Goodreads asked Markus Matthews:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Markus Matthews Don’t keep re-writing the first few pages or chapters of your book because you feel they aren’t good enough. Just keep writing until you reach the end of the book. This way you’ll have finished a book. Now, you can go back and re-write those first pages or chapters that you weren’t happy with. You’ll also find that by getting away from those early pages, you’ll come back to them with a fresh perspective and you’ll have the whole context of the book to help you shape them as well.
