Why don't they leave?
My answer: Where would they go?
But it wasn't an answer that seemed satisfy to anyone. So I decided to devote the second political thriller featuring Mac Davis, a Seattle cop reporter, to answering that question.
You can read the book as just a good thriller -- I hope it is.
