I make coffee for my wife every morning. She likes it with a little bit of cinnamon and a pinch of powdered chocolate mix. One morning, I was shaking out some cinnamon and measuring out some chocolate, eyeing it critically to make sure I had the right amount, and I thought that this is how witches must feel when they are fixing up potions. That's when I knew that my next book was going to feature a witch. The book (A Witch Steps into My Office) grew from there.

Influenced by Roger Zelazny and Chandler, Hammett. I can tell!!! Great influences, sir. I read This Immortal, Lord of Light, Creatures of Light and Darkness, etc. a few years after they were published. It really set the bar high for subsequent SF/F. I believe Zelazny would have greatly enjoyed your Alex Southerland books. Do you plan to write more than 7 books in this series?
