I have two words of advice for aspiring writers. The first is to just write. You'll only grow as a writer as you continue to write. Sure, you can read books on writing and watch seminars, but until you start writing for yourself you will not know YOUR voice.
The second piece of advice is to read, specifically read within the genre you want to write in. It's important to stay up to date on the different trends but more importantly to keep you inspired to write your own stories.
