Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

K.D. Holmberg I had only heard of Hagar as Sarah's handmaid, Abraham's second wife, and mother of Ishmael. When I discovered the Hebrew and Arabic tradition of her being a princess in ancient Egypt before joining the first Hebrew tribe, I had to know more. From there, I researched what life as a princess looked like in ancient Egypt, built a world, and placed Hagar and Sarah in Pharaoh's harem. *Sarah was known as Sarai when she lived in Egypt.
