Vicki Gooding asked Debra H. Goldstein:

Debra, I'm afraid my review did not do you justice. I just finished reading Four Cuts Too Many and I must tell you the ending was quite unexpected than what I thought. I plan on reading the first three, but wanted to tell you personally, job well done. Do you get inspiration from actual people or pets?

Debra H. Goldstein Vicki,
Thank you for reading and reviewing Four Cuts Too Many. I'm glad the ending and the book itself was enjoyable. to answer your question, I get inspiration from actual people and pets, as well as my imagination. For example, my family always had dogs, but I wanted to put a cat in the series beginning in One Taste Too Many. Rather than making it up or taking what I read and translating that into RahRah's behavior, I interviewed a friend for almost three hours, who had owned/owned Siamese cats about their interaction, her relationship to them, etc. I also observed her cat ignoring me, checking me out, staking out her territory, etc. When I started writing, I mixed my research and my observations to create RahRah. The rest of my inspiration from actual people may be a mannerism, a trait, something they say, something from one of their jobs, a twist on an anecdote, etc. I never directly translate an actual person or pet onto the page.

Once you read the first three books in the series - which if you are into e-reading will be on sale: One Taste Too Many is $1.99 now; Two Bites Too Many will be on sale from April 30-May 31 for $.99 and Three Treats Too Many will be on a Bookbub ad and reduced everywhere to $.99 from May 17-19......all in anticipation of Four Cuts Too Many's official release on May25, 2021. A great time for you or anyone else to pick up the first three books!
