Michael Shotter Apologies for the delayed response. For whatever reason, this question got buried by some others that Goodreads generated.

The short answer is, it depends: In my daily life, I'll usually go with loafers around the house for convenience, and basic walking shoes when out and about socially or casually. For work or special events, I've typically gone with an inexpensive but "decent" cap toe, split toe, or bike toe polished dark-leather Oxford, though I have owned the occasional pair of wingtips over the years in efforts to be a bit "fancier." I've never had the budget or occasion to have anything bespoke crafted, but I do have a well-made pair of "off-the-shelf" Oxfords that I invested in after learning how to properly care for them, which have served me well as I've gotten older. In short, you could say I'm a "big man in training," at least when it comes to presenting myself professionally.
