Nick do you get any inspiration form other authors for your books, such as the Raymond Chandler's? The three books are 'The Lady in the Lake' The High Window' 'The Little Sister' these are great stories but the descriptive quotes are sometimes magic. I'm sure a little plagiarism at this stage would probably go unnoticed and bring some great tit bits back to todays readers. Thank Nick for your reply.

I do from Len Deighton, certainly. And authors like Hammond Innes who I read years ago but revisited more recently. I've enjoyed the Jason Bourne movies. And both Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and A Mosted Wanted Man were excellent films I thought. I read quite a bit of travel literature too. I'll certainly try these Chandler titles so thanks for the recommendation.

I want to thank you for your kind review of my book Steady as She Goes, I Have Sea of Gold sitting looking at me and I am finishing a trilogy by Raymond Chandler and looking forward to reading Sea of Gold in a few days. Are you familiar with Chandler? he actually spent some of his young life here in Waterford City in a house which I later bought and is now a retirement home. It's a somewhat small world.
