I actually already wrote a book about a mystery in my life: The Blood Lights. I had seen a strange light over the ocean and that book was my way of explaining it (in an entertaining way) to myself. If I had to pick one that I haven't used yet: once my family was on vacation and without consulting each other, we all sensed/saw the same ghost. I would write her backstory.
