Goodreads asked Jen Waldo:

What mystery in your own life could be a plot for a book?

Jen Waldo One of the most popular and beautiful girls in my high school class was kidnapped, taken out in the country, and executed, bullet to the back of the head. While the authorities caught the murderer, he had an extremely low IQ and wasn't even articulate enough to give a reason for the killing. It was well known that the girl's brother had swindled one of the richest men in town on a drug deal. The rich man was powerful and also known for being creepy, vindictive, and violent; and there was a general feeling that this powerful man arranged the murder as a way to send a message to the brother. While the murderer spent the rest of his life in prison, I wasn't the only one who felt that we didn't get the whole story and that justice was not served.
