Goodreads asked Tracy Borgmeyer:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Tracy Borgmeyer Normally, if I have writers block I use two different methods depending on my mood.

One way is to step away from the keyboard and computer screen, grab a Bic pen and spiral notebook, and sit outside with my dog Molly. The physical pen to paper always gets words flowing organically.

The other way - which is more stressful but is effective - is setting a timer and write nonstop without editing my work. When the timer goes off I usually find a nugget of words to work with and edit.

If all else fails, I step away from the piece and give myself space for the back burner in my brain to figure where to take the story.
