Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Michael Selden I published The Boy Who Ran last November, that story grew from a set of themes that I was thinking about. I decided to write a Middle Grade parable-like story and that became The Boy Who Ran. It's set 6000 years ago in N. America.

The Balance was more complicated and it was actually the first book I wrote, although I withheld publishing. That story began more as a character study that grew into a book and the story is actually too big for one volume, so I'll complete the tale in one or two more volumes.
